Hi ..
We bagan our ICT lessons this year with our first lesson which is about System LiFe Cycle ..
A system life cycle is simply a number of processes that is done in order to :
Make a current system better or more efficient
OR
Develop a new system which meets the requirements of the directors or the owners
In short , those processes can be summed in the following picture :
In this Post , am going to talk about the Analysing Process ..
System analysis involves examining the existing system in detail, in particular :
* collecting information on how the existing system works
* establishing its inputs, outputs and processing
* recording information, for example in the form of data flow diagrams
* identifiying problems
Having carried out these stages, the system analyst then needs to :
* identify suitable hardware and software for a new system
* identify user and information requirements
An analyst can collect data and information through different methods , which are :
1- examination of documents
2- interviews
3- observation
4- questionnaires
As not all methods work efficiently for each and every situation , therefore an anlyst needs to know which method to use with which types of people , and he gets that through experience .
Experience and good data collecting plays great roles in an analyst's work , as an experienced analyst can provide better system analysis and templets to his clients , that match with their needs and requirements and the best choice for them , while an amature wont give that accurate analysis , rather he will focus more on the requests of the clients and how to meet them exactly ..
Well , its a nice job to be an anlyst , but needs much concentration and an ability to identify accurately the errors or needs of the client or their need to be improved-system ..
